About the Treatment

What Is a PDO Thread Lift?

A PDO (polydioxanone) Thread Lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses fine, dissolvable sutures to physically lift and reposition sagging skin. PDO is the same biocompatible material that has been used in surgical sutures for decades — proven safe and fully absorbed by the body over time.

Once the threads are placed beneath the skin, they create an immediate mechanical lift. Over the following weeks, they also stimulate your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin, progressively improving skin firmness and texture even after the threads dissolve.

PDO threads are effective for lifting the brow, cheeks, jawline, jowls, neck, and other areas affected by skin laxity — without the incisions, anesthesia, or lengthy recovery of a surgical facelift.

“Unlike fillers that add volume or Botox that relaxes muscle, PDO threads physically reposition tissue and activate your skin’s own collagen machinery — addressing aging at its structural root.”

The Process

How a PDO Thread Lift Works

  1. 1
Consultation & Mapping Your provider assesses your anatomy, discusses your goals, and designs a custom thread placement plan for your face.
  2. 2
Numbing & Prep Topical anesthetic and local anesthesia are applied at entry points for a comfortable experience throughout.
  3. 3
Thread Insertion Fine PDO threads are passed beneath the skin using a thin cannula or needle — no incisions, no stitches required.
  4. 4
Immediate Lift Threads are anchored and tissue is gently repositioned. You can see the lifting effect in the mirror before you leave.
  5. 5
Progressive Collagen Building Over 4–6 weeks, collagen synthesis intensifies around the threads — improving skin quality, firmness, and contour.
  6. 6
Full Dissolution Threads dissolve completely within 6–8 months, leaving only new collagen — and results that last 12–18 months or more.

Why PDO Threads

The Benefits of Non-Surgical Lifting

No Surgery, No Scars

Real lifting without incisions, general anesthesia, or surgical downtime. Suitable for patients who want meaningful results without surgical risk.

Back to Normal in 24–48 hrs

Most patients return to work and daily activities within a day or two. Minor swelling and tenderness resolve within the first week.

Immediate + Progressive

You see a visible lift immediately. Results deepen over 4–6 weeks as collagen builds — and can last 12–18 months or longer.

Natural-Looking Results

Threads reposition your own tissue — they don’t add volume or freeze expression. Results look refreshed, not artificial.

Stimulates Your Own Collagen

The PDO material triggers a controlled healing response that boosts collagen and elastin production — improving skin quality beyond the lift itself.

Pairs with Other Treatments

Threads combine beautifully with Botox, fillers, microneedling, and CO2 laser for a comprehensive, personalized rejuvenation plan.

A PDO Thread Lift is a non-surgical facelift that uses dissolvable polydioxanone sutures to physically lift and reposition sagging skin. The threads also stimulate your body’s collagen production, improving skin firmness and texture as they dissolve over 6–8 months — so results continue to develop well after the procedure.

Naya Wellness offers PDO Thread Lifts at two California locations. Our Chatsworth clinic at 21800 Devonshire St., Suite B serves the West Valley and greater Los Angeles area. Our Santa Barbara clinic serves the South Coast — including Goleta, Montecito, and Ventura. Both locations offer same-week appointments.

You’ll see immediate results after the procedure. Over 4–6 weeks, collagen production intensifies and results continue to improve. The threads dissolve within 6–8 months, but the collagen and elastin they stimulate maintain the lifting effect for 12–18 months — sometimes longer. Maintenance treatments can extend results indefinitely.

Most patients report minimal discomfort. We apply topical numbing cream and administer local anesthesia at the entry points before starting. During the procedure, you may feel mild pressure or a gentle tugging sensation — most patients find this well-tolerated. Treatment takes 30–60 minutes.

Most patients return to work within 24–48 hours. Mild swelling, tenderness, and minor bruising are common for the first few days. For the first week, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, sleeping on your face, and facial massage. Most patients feel comfortable at social events within 5–7 days.

Pricing varies based on the number of threads and treatment areas. We provide personalized quotes at your consultation — no generic pricing, because no two faces are the same. Members of our Aesthetic Membership Plans receive preferred pricing on all treatments, including PDO threads.

Yes — and they pair exceptionally well. PDO threads address tissue descent and collagen production. Botox or Daxxify relax dynamic wrinkles. Dermal fillers restore lost volume. Microneedling and CO2 laser improve skin quality. Together they form a comprehensive, complementary rejuvenation plan.

PDO has been used in surgical sutures for decades and has an excellent safety record. When performed by a trained provider, PDO Thread Lifts are well-tolerated with a low risk of complications. Common, temporary effects include swelling and minor bruising. Rare risks (infection, asymmetry, thread visibility) are minimized by provider skill and adherence to post-care guidelines. We are LegitScript certified and review all risks at your consultation.
