Daxxify vs. Letybo: Comparing the Longest-Lasting Toxin to the Newest Budget-Friendly Option (2026 Guide)
Mechanism, onset, duration, dosing, and cost — an honest, clinically-grounded comparison of Daxxify and Letybo from Naya Wellness’s medical team.
Letybo vs. Daxxify, in short
Letybo and Daxxify sit at opposite ends: Daxxify lasts longest (~6 months) at a premium price, while Letybo is the budget option at 3–4 months. On cost-per-month, the two land closer than the sticker price suggests.
If you are weighing Daxxify against Letybo, you are looking at the two newest FDA-approved neurotoxins for glabellar lines — and they sit at opposite ends of the menu. Daxxify is the premium long-acting option, peptide-stabilized and studied at six months. Letybo is the South Korean newcomer that landed in the U.S. in early 2024 and competes hard on price.
For most patients the choice is a simple trade-off: fewer visits per year at a higher per-visit price, or a familiar 3 to 4 month cycle at a lower per-treatment cost. This guide walks through mechanism, onset, duration, dosing, cost-per-month math, side effects, and ideal candidate for each — based on the FDA labels, the SAKURA and BLESS phase-3 programs, and what we see in our Chatsworth and Santa Barbara clinics.
Quick Take
Daxxify is the longest-lasting cosmetic neurotoxin on the market, studied at a median of six months — and some patients report nine months — at roughly $560–$800 per glabellar treatment, which works out to around $117 per month for a typical patient on a twice-a-year cadence. Letybo is FDA-approved at the same 20-unit glabellar dose as Botox, lasts the standard 3–4 months, and costs roughly $200–$300 per treatment — around $50–$85 per month on a 3.5-month cycle. Daxxify wins on visits-per-year and total convenience; Letybo wins on per-visit cost and is the more flexible option if your face changes how you respond to toxin from year to year.
What Daxxify and Letybo Actually Are
Both are purified type A botulinum toxins, and both work by blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction so the targeted muscle relaxes and the overlying skin smooths. Where they differ is in formulation, manufacturer, and how recently each landed on the U.S. market.
- Daxxify (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) — made by Revance Therapeutics, FDA-approved for glabellar lines in September 2022. It is built on a 150 kDa core toxin stabilized by a proprietary peptide excipient called RTP-004 instead of the human serum albumin used in most other toxins. That peptide is the reason Daxxify is studied with a six-month median duration.
- Letybo (letibotulinumtoxinA-wlbg) — made by Hugel America, FDA-approved for glabellar lines in February 2024. Letybo has been the leading neuromodulator in South Korea for years and uses a roughly 900 kDa complex with human serum albumin, similar in structure to Botox.
Translation: Daxxify is a deliberately engineered long-acting product with an albumin-free excipient. Letybo is a straightforward, Botox-like toxin with a decade-plus of real-world use in Asia and a competitive U.S. launch price.
Onset: How Quickly Will You See Results?
This is one area where the two products are surprisingly close.
- Daxxify onset: Most patients see softening at 1–4 days, with peak effect at approximately 14 days. The SAKURA trials reported a median onset within the first few days for most responders.
- Letybo onset: Most patients see softening at 2–3 days (median around 2.8 days in BLESS phase-3 data), with peak effect at approximately 14 days.
Neither product is meaningfully slower than the other on the front end. The real timing difference is what happens at the back end of the cycle — and that is where they diverge dramatically.
Duration: Where Daxxify Pulls Away
This is the headline difference between the two products.
- Daxxify: The SAKURA program reported a median duration of approximately six months at the glabellar 40-unit dose. A meaningful subset of patients reported visible softening at nine months. The FDA label reflects this six-month positioning, and Daxxify is the only cosmetic neurotoxin in the U.S. studied at this duration.
- Letybo: Studied and labeled at the standard 3 to 4 months for glabellar lines, in line with Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin.
If you treat twice a year on Daxxify, that is two visits to our clinic per year. On Letybo, the same patient is typically in three to four times a year. For some people this is a quality-of-life upgrade; for others, more frequent touch-ups are actually preferred because they allow finer dose tuning each visit.
Dosing and Unit Conversion
Per the FDA labels:
- Daxxify for glabellar lines: 40 units total, divided across 5 injection sites (8 units each).
- Letybo for glabellar lines: 20 units total, divided across 5 injection sites (4 units each).
Letybo is dosed at the familiar Botox-style 1:1 ratio — a competent injector who knows Botox knows Letybo. Daxxify uses a roughly 2:1 ratio relative to Botox, which means a 40-unit Daxxify treatment is doing the equivalent of a 20-unit Botox treatment in terms of clinical effect — the units are simply scaled differently and the peptide stabilization extends how long that effect lasts.
When you compare per-unit prices between Daxxify and Letybo, do not anchor on the unit number. Always compare per-treatment-area pricing, because the unit definitions are not interchangeable.
Diffusion and Precision
Both products have tight, precise diffusion profiles when injected correctly. Daxxify’s 150 kDa core toxin is similar in spread behavior to Xeomin, and clinical experience with Daxxify suggests it stays well-controlled in the glabellar complex without unwanted creep into adjacent muscles. Letybo, with its larger 900 kDa complex, behaves similarly to Botox in terms of footprint.
In practice, neither product has the “broader spread” reputation that follows Dysport. Both are well-suited to focal targets like the glabella, crow’s feet, and lip lines when placed by an experienced injector.
Cost: What You Will Actually Pay in 2026
This is where the two products genuinely live in different price brackets.
- Daxxify: roughly $14–$20 per unit. A standard glabellar treatment (40 units) lands around $560–$800.
- Letybo: roughly $9–$15 per unit. A standard glabellar treatment (20 units) lands around $200–$300.
The right way to compare is cost-per-month. On a six-month Daxxify cycle, a $700 treatment is approximately $117 per month. On a 3.5-month Letybo cycle, a typical Letybo treatment is approximately $50–$85 per month. Letybo is the more economical choice on monthly math; Daxxify is the more economical choice on visits-per-year and time-off-from-being-a-patient.
For many patients the deciding factor is not the dollar figure at all — it is the calendar. If you travel constantly, run a demanding clinical schedule, or simply hate scheduling appointments, the two-visits-per-year cadence of Daxxify is worth the premium.
Side Effects and Safety
Both products have side effect profiles consistent with the rest of the cosmetic toxin class. In FDA-controlled trials, the most common adverse events for both were:
- Headache (3–8%)
- Injection-site reactions — bruising, redness, mild swelling (1–6%)
- Eyelid heaviness or ptosis, typically less than 2% in trained hands
- Brow asymmetry, usually correctable with a small touch-up at the 2-week mark
Both products carry the FDA boxed warning about the theoretical possibility of distant toxin spread; in the doses used for cosmetic facial treatment, this has not been a clinically meaningful concern. One genuinely noteworthy data point: the Letybo BLESS phase-3 program reported no treatment-emergent neutralizing antibodies through multiple repeat treatment cycles, a reassuring signal for long-term repeat use.
Daxxify’s albumin-free RTP-004 peptide can be relevant for patients who specifically want to avoid human serum albumin in their injections for personal or philosophical reasons; Letybo, like Botox, does contain human serum albumin.
Who Is the Ideal Candidate for Each?
Daxxify may be the better fit if:
- You want to come in twice a year instead of three or four times
- Your duration on Botox or Dysport has consistently fallen short of 3 months and you want to test a longer-acting product
- You prefer an albumin-free excipient profile
- You have a stable, well-mapped treatment plan and are not looking to fine-tune dose visit-to-visit
Letybo may be the better fit if:
- You are price-sensitive and want the lowest per-treatment cost on the menu
- You are new to neurotoxin and want to start on a familiar Botox-style dosing pattern
- You prefer more frequent visits with the option to refine dose each time
- You like the idea of a product with a long real-world track record in South Korea and a strong clinical antibody profile
Can You Switch Between Daxxify and Letybo?
Yes. There is no medical reason you cannot alternate between products from one treatment to the next, and at our clinics we have a number of patients who use Daxxify twice a year and Letybo or Botox in between if their schedule allows or budget changes. A few practical notes:
- Always tell your new injector which product you previously had, the dose, and when. Daxxify’s six-month tail can still be partially active when a Letybo top-up is considered.
- You cannot “stack” the two in the same area in the same session.
- Switching products does not reduce the small theoretical risk of antibody formation; BLESS and SAKURA both showed reassuringly low immunogenicity.
- If you have been on Daxxify and want to try Letybo, wait until your prior treatment is clearly softening before re-dosing — treating into an active Daxxify effect can overshoot.

Daxxify vs. Letybo FAQ
It depends on what you are optimizing for. On a per-month basis Daxxify is roughly $117 vs. roughly $50–$85 for Letybo, so the premium is roughly $32–$67 a month for the convenience of two visits per year instead of three to four. If your time is at a premium, the math often works. If you are price-sensitive, Letybo wins.
No. The SAKURA trials reported a median of approximately six months, which means roughly half of patients are above that and half below. First-time Daxxify users in particular sometimes report a 4 to 5 month first cycle that lengthens with subsequent treatments. We track this carefully and adjust at the next visit.
Functionally, the two products are very similar — same 20-unit glabellar dose, 1:1 conversion, similar onset, similar duration, similar diffusion. The main differences are manufacturer, the BLESS antibody data, and the lower per-unit price point. Many patients who have done well on Botox transition seamlessly to Letybo.
Usually no, as long as your injector recalculates dose appropriately. The clinical effect on relaxed glabellar muscles is similar; the duration of that effect is what differs. You will be coming back sooner on Letybo.
Letybo is the more common starting point for first-timers because the 1:1 Botox-style dosing is well-understood and the lower per-treatment price reduces the financial commitment if you want to try and see. Daxxify is a reasonable first-time choice for patients who are confident in their treatment plan and want the longer cycle from day one.
Neither product is recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Both carry FDA pregnancy precautions and should be deferred until after pregnancy and lactation are complete.
Standard guidance for both products: avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, and rubbing the treated area for approximately 4 hours after injection. Flying is generally fine the same day.
