The Cartessa DEKA Tetra CO2 changes that — its energy, depth, and density are fully tunable, so your provider can dial the treatment in at the right intensity for your goals. We offer two distinct modes on the same platform.
The Lunchtime CO2 Peel
CoolPeel® uses ultra-short, high-energy CO2 pulses to resurface only the outermost layer of skin — clearing dullness, fine lines, and surface pigmentation while keeping thermal damage and downtime to a minimum.

What Is CO2 Fractional Laser Resurfacing?
A CO2 fractional laser uses a precisely controlled beam of carbon dioxide light to create microscopic columns of treated tissue surrounded by untouched skin. The treated zones heal rapidly while the surrounding intact skin acts as a scaffold — dramatically shortening recovery compared to the fully-ablative CO2 lasers of the past.
Two things happen in the weeks after treatment. First, the damaged outer cells are sloughed and replaced with fresh skin. Second — and more important for long-term results — the heat reaches the dermis and triggers a wound-healing cascade that lays down new collagen and elastin over the following months.
On the Cartessa DEKA Tetra, your provider controls energy, density, and depth independently, so the same device can deliver a gentle CoolPeel® or a deeper fractional treatment depending on your goals.

It depends on the mode. A deeper Tetra fractional treatment often produces strong results in a single session, with occasionally a second pass for significant scars or photoaging. CoolPeel® is more typically run as a series of 3–4 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart. Your provider will lay out a full plan at your initial skin assessment.
CO2 lasers are generally best suited to lighter Fitzpatrick skin types (I–III) because deeper pigmentation carries a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The Tetra’s highly customizable energy and depth settings let us safely broaden treatment to a wider range of patients than legacy CO2 systems — but candidacy is still determined case-by-case at consultation. If CO2 isn’t the right fit for you, we’ll recommend an alternative like IPL, microneedling, or chemical peels.
