What we’re working toward

We believe that access to health and wellness information should be available to everyone. We are actively working to ensure that nayawell.com conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility.

Our ongoing efforts include regular accessibility reviews, remediation of identified issues, and consideration of accessibility in all new content and design updates.

In August 2026 we completed a full audit of the site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, using automated testing (axe-core) across representative pages together with manual keyboard testing of the site navigation and the online booking flow. Every contrast failure and every Level A issue the audit identified has been fixed. The gaps we know remain are listed below.

What we’ve implemented

• Text and interactive elements meet the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast minimum of 4.5:1
• Menus, including drop-down submenus, open and operate with the keyboard alone
• A visible, high-contrast focus indicator on every interactive element
• Links in body copy are underlined, so color is never the only way to identify them
• Descriptive alt text on meaningful images
• Semantic HTML headings used in logical order (H1 → H2 → H3)
• Form fields carry visible or screen-reader-accessible labels
• Phone numbers formatted as clickable tel: links
• Links have descriptive text — we avoid “click here” and “read more” without context
• Pages include a lang="en" attribute for screen reader language detection
• Videos hosted on our YouTube channel include closed captions

Areas we’re still improving

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some areas are still in progress:

• Some older PDF documents (pre-2024 consent forms and informational sheets) may not be fully screen-reader compatible. We are working to remediate these.
• Our online booking and gift card pages are hosted by our scheduling platform and their code is outside our direct control. We tested the full booking flow by keyboard in August 2026 and were able to complete a booking without a mouse. We have asked the vendor for a formal accessibility conformance report, and we are still reviewing how well the later booking steps work with a screen reader. If you would prefer to book by phone, either location will take your appointment directly.
• Certain embedded map widgets may not be fully keyboard navigable. Plain-text address and phone information is always provided alongside every map.
